The minister's decision complied with a request made by the defense lawyers of Flávio Bolsonaro (PSL-RJ)
Minister Gilmar Mendes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) ordered the suspension of investigations related to suspicions of atypical movement of R $ 1.2 million in the accounts of Fabrício Queiroz, former adviser to Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PSL-RJ), son of President Jair Bolsonaro.
The decision was signed last Friday (27) and answered a request from the lawyers of Flávio Bolsonaro that authorities of Rio de Janeiro would not be fully complying with the July decision of STF President Dias Toffoli, which ruled the suspension of criminal investigations by the country that use Coaf data without judicial authorization.
Gilmar ordered the suspension of the proceedings of a Criminal Investigative Process and two habeas corpus relating to the Queiroz case until the final judgment by the Supreme Court, which will be held on November 21st.
"Given the gravity of the facts (…) I order that it be officiated to the National Council of the Public Prosecutor (CNMP), to determine the functional responsibility of the members of the Public Prosecutor of Rio de Janeiro," wrote Gilmar Mendes.
The defense of Bolsonaro's son said Rio's prosecutor used Coaf to create "shortcuts" and evade control of the courts.
