Internet reactions have been the most varied, and many have joked about the possible effects that history may have on one of the most controversial Presidents in US history.
Both actor Joaquin Phoenix and director Todd Phillips have revealed openness to a possible sequel to this box office success if they can find a story at the level presented to us.
This is not the first time Donald Trump has been associated with a DC villain, as his inauguration speech was compared to Bane's in The Dark Knight Rises.
