Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have been full-time members of the Royal Family since their marriage. After giving birth to Archie Harrison in May this year, Meghan recently returned to work and completed a ten-day African tour with Prince Harry, 35. Kate followed her first royal tour as a mother to New Zealand and Australia almost a year after the prince. George was born. How do you compare your first real trips as parents?
The age of the real baby
After giving birth to Prince George, Kate waited only a month before returning to work.
However, she waited almost nine months after Prince George's birth before embarking on New Zealand and Australia in April 2014.
Meghan went abroad much more quickly and her recent tour of Africa took place just four months after Archie Harrison's birth.
The duration of the tour
On her first working trip as a mother, the Duchess of Cambridge set off for a gigantic 19-day tour.
Meghan opted for a much shorter trip, and the African tour lasted ten days.
Time with the children
During the tour, Kate made a point of spending as much time as possible with George, she and William, spending only two separate nights with her son.
However, it is believed that Meghan did not leave Archie during the tour and Prince Harry even traveled to some engagement alone so that the duchess could stay with her son.
The appearance of the real baby
Although the two royal mothers try to keep their children's lives confidential, they both appeared during the trips.
Prince George stole the show as it was seen many times during the royal trip, including a play date in New Zealand and a day at the Sydney Zoo.
