One of the stars of Star Wars: Skywalker's Ascension, Naomi Ackie, recently shared some more details about her character, Jannah, and how it fits into the story of Episode IX.
In conversation with Total Film (via GamesRadar), Ackie revealed that her character appears in the movie at the right time, as Jannah, who uses bow and arrow, teams up with Resistance heroes to play a key role in the final act of the Skywalker Saga.
"Jannah is a warrior, and gets in touch with the rest of the group at a time when they are in need of some help," the actress told the publication.
"She is part of the Resistance, and has spent a lot of time acquiring skills that can be helpful when the movie is over. She appears at the right time."
The newcomer to the franchise detailed one of the skills she acquired during her extensive preparation for her role in a galaxy far, far away, explaining that she trained with real animals to assemble the horse-like beasts known as orbaks in the film.
"I trained for several months, three times a week, on a fantastic equestrian ranch called The Devil's Horsemen," he said.
"In the end, I could gallop without hands. I could play catch with balls on a horse … that's the best part of this job – you're paid to learn!"
Star Wars: Skywalker Ascension debuts in December this year.
